About the project
Dermap is a device designed for the people with vitiligo (also called leukoderma). It is an analogical object that allows the autonomous mapping of vitiligo on the hands, in order to keep its progress or regression under control from home.
Vitiligo stains appear when the hand is inserted into the mask and the UV lamps are turned on. By tracing the contours on glossy sheets, and overlapping them over time, it is possible to monitor the progress of the disease.
In fact, by inserting the hand inside a preformed mask and lighting the Wood lamps that allow you to view the spots in a clearer way, it will be possible to trace the outlines of the latter by drawing on appropriate sheets of acetate. The collection of the sheets, superimposed on each other in the same position, will allow an immediate visualization of the progress of the disease.

“I am a student in the third year of Industrial Product Design at Politecnico di Milano. I love to get involved in projects which intrigue me, and I want to deepen it as much as possible. This aspect merges with the idea I have about design. For me, intelligent design is a discipline that aims to improve people’s lives, even in the simplest way and in everyday aspects.”

“I am a student of Product Design at Politecnico di Milano. I am a person which is attentive to details, stubborn and which is loving challenges. Under pressure I give my best and I always try to solve problems as efficiently as possible. For me design is, in fact, finding an efficient solution to the problem of the user, keeping the consumer at the center of his research.”

“I am studying Industrial Product Design in the third year at Politecnico de Milano. I consider myself a very curious person and I am fascinated by technological innovations. Above all my vision of design is linked to the ability to think sideways. Collecting stimuli from various sectors together with its constant application allow us to face new and old challenges while managing to reach effective solutions.”
