What is distributed design? What effect does it have on democracy, social inclusion, and the climate? Can it become an answer towards a circular transition? ‘This is Distributed Design’ is a short documentary that explores the emerging field by taking the audience to Distributed Design Platform members and talents all across Europe.
Through in-depth conversations with experts and practitioners, the film documents key aspects of Distributed Design such as its origins, social and environmental impact, and future directions. ‘This is Distributed Design’ features a diverse range of designers which allows insight into how the theory is put into practice.
The documentary ‘This is Distributed Design’ goes hand in hand with this year’s publication developed within the Distributed Design Platform of the same name and both together lay a foundation for the advancement of digital design and fabrication.
