About the project
As a strategy to combat food loss and waste and overcome food and nutrition insecurity, the Nutrebem Program (Food Bank) of the Voluntary Organization of Goiás produces the “Mix do Bem” (a food composed of rice, soy protein, carrots, tomatoes, dehydrated garlic, and onions) and Dehydrated Fruits (banana, pineapple, apple, and mango), applying food processing production systems and dehydration techniques that use fruits and vegetables outside the commercial standard as raw material, which would otherwise be wasted in the Supply Centers of the State of Goiás, Brazil. The donation of the food produced in the OVG Food Bank reaches communities throughout the state of Goiás, serving social entities and families in situations of social vulnerability.
