About the project
The version_01 lamp show was manufactured in East London and was designed so that the files for manufacturing can be sent to any location in the world and made locally. Normal manufacturing processes involve lengthy supply chains and have a huge environmental impact. By manufacturing locally using 3D printing we are massively reducing waste and transportation.
The box contains two unique 3D printed parts that can be paired with easy-to-find material to create a floor-standing light that can be made anywhere by anyone. The assembly process for version_01 also introduces the user to basic making skills.
We have designed the version_01 light so that you could make it in your kitchen and purchase or find all the materials and tools you need from local hardware stores. The hub is sized to fit the standard broom handle size of 23mm.
To make this light, purchase a 3D printed hub kit to make at home, available online at batch.works.
