As a junior designer, Jamila BENALLAL focuses her work on issues related to healthcare. It’s important for her to include users in her creative process, whether in their conception or in their use. She studied at ESAD Valenciennes, in the north of France, and graduated in June 2023. She is currently completing her studies within a post-graduate program at ESAD Valenciennes. In her practice, she privileges a material approach, working with wood, fabric, plaster, or 3D printing.

Reassure Your Injury is Jamila’s graduation project. It’s a toolkit within a bag in which we find 5 series of objects which correspond to the 5 main injuries for which the French population consults the emergency services (fractures, flesh wounds, ligament ruptures, tendon ruptures, and burn). Every piece corresponds to one step of each injury, and has been simplified in terms of form and material. The goal is to create a comfortable link with our body and our injuries. For each series, a second kit allows to arrange every piece and replace them the right order.
