About the project
Fab City Hub Córdoba
Following the celebration of Cofactory’s sixth anniversary and the incorporation of Córdoba, Argentina, into the Fab City network in 2023, the Fab City Hub Córdoba will begin operating in August 2025 in Barrio Guemes, a neuralgic point in the capital. Its implementation is important because it promotes self-sufficiency, innovation, and sustainability in cities.
In this way, citizens can access a 1,000 m² space in a Phygital ecosystem that fosters innovation through collaborative workspaces, a Fab Lab with digital manufacturing tools, urban microfactories, and training programs committed to sustainability and the empowerment of the local community for a resilient and productive city.
Thanks to the support of the Innovation For Tomorrow Foundation, Fab City Foundation, local universities, partnerships with government institutions, sponsors, and other stakeholders, we are promoting a quintuple helix innovation model.
The project’s approach
This ecosystem fosters collaboration between citizens, institutions, and companies, allowing the community to actively participate in the development of their environment and solutions to local problems.
The design and development of products and services is collaboratively and distributed digitally so they can be produced in different locations. This approach leverages digital technology and global networks to decentralize manufacturing, reducing dependence on supply chains and reducing costs and production times toward a regenerative future, while fostering social and labor inclusion.
About the designer
Our community is made up of local designers, engineers, artists, makers, and enthusiasts who have the infrastructure to provide solutions to companies or government institutions.
Some success stories include EO Raptor, who developed the Red Bull Basement finalist project in Turkey at the facilities of Cofactory, presenting their motorcycle prototypes thanks to the collaborative production of the social and productive ecosystem.
Another success story is the recent international award, Innovate for the Climate, a solution for the city through the creation of a charging station for electric micromobility.
We can also mention the talented girls from Dual Animations joined the community to make an award-winning stop-motion short film in Argentina and Latin America, thanks to the collective’s digital manufacturing and interdisciplinary collaboration.
We undoubtedly face a challenge in the coming months: transforming Cofactory into the Fab City Hub Córdoba to continue growing the community and its positive impact on the city.
