About the event
Circularity, waste reduction and utilization of local resources and raw materials: factors that help to create sustainable and livable cities. But how can designers take responsibility in this process, and what is the role of distributed design in the development of self-sufficient cities?
The meetup is an additional event of the open call by FabLab Budapest. In the framework of the OPEN CALL 4 IDEAS competition, 5 talented creatives will have the opportunity to make their open-source project idea available worldwide.
At the event, besides presenting the open call, speakers will talk about the connections between sustainability and design, and how new manufacturing technologies influence product development processes, giving an insight into what does it means to be a maker.
The prototype of one of the winning projects of the open call 2019 edition will be also available at the event location.
