About this event
What is it?
We’re creating a digital event to bring together product design students and graduates from across Scotland.
It’s an opportunity to discuss future plans, learn how to create a brilliant crowdfunding campaign to launch your idea, and discover how to use your new-found skills for good.
Who’s joining us?
We’ll have three speakers joining us for the session;
Heather Swift Hunt – Senior Director of International at Kickstarter. Heather will be speaking to us about how to use Kickstarter to get funding to make your idea a reality.
Sadhbh Doherty – Innovation Designer at Shift and previous Head of Product at Technology Will Save Us. Sadhbh will be sharing about her experiences in using product design for good, and how she’s used that experience on crowdfunding in the past.
Martina Giulianelli – Project Manager at OpenDot in Milan. Last year with the support of Careables and TOG Foundation launched a crowdfunding campaign for Glifo – a writing aid for children with disabilities. Martina will share their experience of running their campaign and how they are are navigating the manufacture and delivery of their rewards.
We’ll have time for a Q&A at the end, then the opportunity to break out into small groups to discuss your projects and ideas or ask for advice from one another.
Who are we?
We are Make Works Scotland, part of a global library of local manufacturing, we are mapping factories, fabricators and manufacturers to help people make things locally.
This project is supported by Creative Europe and Distributed Design. Distributed Design is bringing together makers, creatives and designers to create a network that supports making.
