Match made in heaven - Synergy and ergonomics of Fab Lab and theatre design

About the project

A match made in heaven – Spamalot the musical set and props design and the Westman Islands Fab Lab in Iceland.

The project aims to implement technical possibilities of Fab Lab to assist and maximize use of limited resources in smaller and non-profit theatre productions. We seek to explore if the use of the Fab Lab production possibilities combined with technical assistance of professional theatre designers and a Fab Lab expert can make certain aspects of theatre production ergonomically and financially more efficient. By using Fab Lab we expand the building possibilities available to non-profit and smaller theatre productions. The team will use the synergy of these two production platforms to gradually enrich each others technical know how. Se will find common ground design ideas and drafts which we will then implement and make full scale models which will have real world application.
