Dive deep into the design for good, in a multi-format Distributed Design experience
What is distributed design? What effect does it have on democracy, social inclusion, and the climate? To answer these questions, we’ve created an immersive experience in the form of a multi-format website, where you can experience the “This is Distributed Design” book and the documentary simultaneously, diving deep into the world of design for good.
To go further than that, we’ve combined different formats to provide an experience that really answers the question “What is Distributed Design”. It’s a book, a documentary, a podcast, a timeline, a series of collaborative videos and a map into the basic concepts of Distributed Design.
Step into the experience!
Established in 2017 and co-funded by the Creative Europe program of the European Union, the Distributed Design platform brings together a diverse member-base from cultural and creative institutions including Fab Labs, cultural organisations, universities and makerspaces. It aims to support and connect creatives, designers, makers, and innovators to participate in the creation of a new model of production and consumption – envisioning a world in which “bits travel globally, while atoms stay local.
“This is Distributed Design” presents the state-of-the-art in the field, discusses future directions and lays a foundation for the advancement of digital design and fabrication. You can devour all of it at once, watch it in pieces, share it with friends and colleagues to start conversations and exchange ideas. Whether you are already a member or just stumbled upon the concept of distributed design, this platform gives you an opportunity to delve into the past, present and the philosophy of our platform.
