About the project

FABCARE is an experimental initiative created and developed to stimulate independent designers, makers and innovators to design open source products in healthcare, which can be distributed through digital platforms and materialize in Fab Labs. FABCARE is designed, coordinated and developed by Polifactory all inside the Distributed Design Market Platform project.

ZERO2 is a device for patients with respiratory deficiency. It is used to monitor their blood oxygen levels. Zero2 is a digital device designed to solve the problem of oxygen wastage during oxygen therapy. It is conceived for the patients suffering from chronic respiratory failure, safeguarding the user from fatigue situations. Thanks to the possibility to control the fluctuations of hemoglobin in the blood, the pulse oximeter will be able to define if the quantity of oxygen supplied to the patient is correct, lower or higher. The indication will be provided through the use of LEDs.

Tommaso Brioschi

“I’m a curious person, interested both in the more “traditional” Design and in exploring “new” areas that deviate from the traditional limits. In projects I try to have a 360° vision, keeping in mind the technical aspects without neglecting the creative and aesthetic aspect, which allow to express own personality. Tough and determined in reaching my goal, I give the best in everything I do, trying to learn as much as possible from any experience, positive or negative.”

Giovanni Luca Fidone

“Graduated ITIS Elettronica, now graduating at the three-year Eng. Meccatronica in Reggio Emilia. I am passionate about electronics since I discovered their applications in technical audio; I am also interested in studying the applications of microcontrollers in everyday life.”

Lorenzo Lanzoni

“I am a product designer, at the third year of university. In these years I have followed and completed many projects (university and non), becoming passionate about the design method in all its phases: from research to concept, through the use of modeling and graphic software and ?nally the creation of prototypes through 3D printing. In the last period I am very interested in working on social issues, including healthcare.”
