About the project
Our project aims to harness the natural resources of the Tarum Areuy tree (Marsdenia tinctoria R.Br.) to produce a sustainable blue dye and shampoo. The primary objectives revolve around utilizing the plant’s properties to create eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic dyes and shampoos, thereby promoting environmental conservation and reducing reliance on chemical-based products.
Our approach involves thorough research into the botanical characteristics and chemical composition of the Tarum Areuy tree, particularly focusing on its pigment-rich parts and beneficial compounds suitable for hair care. Through careful extraction and processing techniques, we isolate the natural blue dye and incorporate it into a shampoo formulation that prioritizes both effectiveness and safety.
The outcomes of our project are multifaceted. Firstly, we anticipate the successful creation of a vibrant blue dye sourced from Tarum Areuy, offering a renewable and biodegradable alternative to synthetic dyes commonly found in textiles and cosmetics. Secondly, our shampoo formulation aims to harness the tree’s natural properties to cleanse, nourish, and enhance hair health without resorting to harmful chemicals. This not only benefits consumers by providing a healthier choice for personal care but also contributes to the preservation of ecosystems by reducing the environmental impact associated with conventional dye and shampoo production.
Overall, our project seeks to marry traditional botanical knowledge with modern scientific methods to develop sustainable solutions for dyeing and hair care, fostering a greener approach to personal grooming and product manufacturing.
