About the project
Fast furniture is increasingly thrown away due to the inconvenience of transport and cheap materials which degrade with frequent construction and disassembly. The system aims to reduce this waste due to both of these factors which occur commonly in the process of moving home.
This fixing system explores how we can create adaptable furniture that makes the process of frequently changing home environment a less frustrating experience with a reduction in discarded furnishings. By using non-permanent 3d printed fixings, standard bolts and broom dowels allow for furnishings to be disassembled quickly into a compact, transportable form and reduce the degradation of parts and components.
