About the event

We are excited to announce that this year the Global Innovation Gathering will be hosting a pre-publica programme on May 20th together with the Distributed Design Europe Network. The programme is going to feature makers and innovators from around the world showcasing their work.

Here’s an overview of all our session – a few more will be added today and tomorrow: https://re-publica.tv/de/partner/ddmp

Here’s the schedule – https://re-publica.tv/de/schedule?day=2021-05-20&track=0&topic=0&stage=39813&language=0&experience=0

Speakers will include Reem Talhouk who will be unpacking notions of resilience and how humanitarian technologies contribute to dystopian futures for refugees. Mathilde Berchon who will speak on the present and the future of 3D printing, Bart de Witte will be in conversation with Nick Couldry on the topic of Open Health data and Renata Avila will be in conversation with Paola Vilarreal on Smart Cities in South America. We will hear from the FabLab Bhutan and Nepal Communitere how they are working against climate change and from Vilsquare Nigeria how they managed to turn an open design for a microscope into an off the shelf supermarket product, making science accessible and affordable.
