Since 2022 Maker has collaborated with Ungdomsbureauet on creating MakerZone at Ungdommens Folkemøde.

MakerZone is a pop-up makerspace at the festival sight hosting a broad selection of hands-on workshops, talks and exhibitions focusing on democratisation of tools, knowledge and crafts.

Ungdommens Folkemøde is the biggest youth democracy festival in Denmark, gathering more than 25.000 visitors during two days. This year’s festival is held the 4th and 5th of September 2024.

As part of Maker’s Distributed Design activity 2024-2025 we are hosting plastic recycling workshops in MakerZone. Participants learned about challenges with plastic pollution, how to sort, plastic waste fractions and got to make their own keychain from recycled plastics. More than 80 keychains were made during the festival using Precious Plastic machines.
