On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 6 p.m., we invite you to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška to the opening of the Triennial of Handicrafts / Exhibition of modern and innovative products based on the rich cultural heritage of Slovenia. The curators of the exhibition are dr. Cvetka Požar, dr. Tanja Roženbergar and Maja Vardjan.
The exhibition presents 38 products selected at the Triennale of Handicrafts and Crafts public call, launched by a consortium of partners, and 10 products selected at the public call Connecting Contemporary Design, Handicrafts and Crafts, launched by the Centre for Creativity as part of the Distributed Design Platform . The exhibition contributes to the understanding of handicraft industries in the context of the time and society of the 21st century.
Handicraft exhibitions in Slovenj Gradec have a rich tradition and are one of the most important manifestations for the presentation of handmade products. Since the first exhibition of domestic crafts and arts and crafts in 1977, the social, cultural, economic and environmental conditions have changed fundamentally. The new edition of the Handicrafts Triennale reflects the changed relations in the field of handicraft cultures and highlights the relevance and relevance of such processes.
It will be on view in the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška in Slovenj Gradec until November 19, 2023.
The partners of the project are the Carinthian Regional Museum, Slovenian Etnographic Museum, the Museum of Architecture and Design, Centre for Creativity, Distributed Design Platform, the European Union, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška, the Slovenj Gradec Business Center and Center Rog.
