Crafts TECH 2021 – Maker to Market Accelerator

Are you an artisan from Catalonia? Looking to gain skills to apply digital tools to design, produce and market your handcrafted pieces?

Join the online Crafts TECH 2021 Maker to Market Accelerator to extend your knowledge of distributed design, strengthen your network and learn how to enter emerging markets!

Distributed design and craftmanship

Can digitization practices and the use of technology in design, production, and access to craftsmanship be applied without losing the unique, handcrafted value of a piece?

In line with the principles of craftsmanship, distributed design practices propose an alternative to mass production by digitizing all the steps of the development process of the artisanal pieces, focusing on small-scale localized production, the circular economy, and local distribution networks.

Crafts TECH 2021

Crafts TECH 2021 addresses the last phase of product development, in what we have called “Maker to Market”. The training will take place online from the 4th to the 22nd of October 2021 and seeks to turn a project, an idea, or a design into a real product with room in the market. Participants will gain valuable knowledge and skills to apply technological and digital tools and resources not only in the process of design and production of the handcrafted pieces but also to turn these pieces into market products.
