BioBasedMaterials is a research project on materials obtained from biomass
We live in an extraordinarily dynamic and plural social context in which designers must have a critical capacity for what surrounds us. In this context it is no longer enough to create functional or beautiful products, but they should also be ethical. Detect and satisfy people's daily needs; but also have the ability to propose new scenarios that can solve problems and create new satisfactory relationships between the user, the product and the community. I believe that the designer, regardless of how far his knowledge reaches, must be able to propose new ways of manufacturing, new applications, new uses, ways of consuming, relating to the product and relating to his environment and culture. The objective of this research is to develop an environmentally responsible material that takes advantage of available renewable resources. It is suggested that benefits could be generated by alternatives to conventional materials that often have a great negative impact on the environment.
- Does your design take social and cultural challenges and human wellbeing into consideration?
The development of these materials obtained from biomass could not only mean an improvement for the planet, but could also offer new sensations, colors, textures, smells and interactions between the user and the object.
- Does your design support sustainable production, embodying circular or regenerative design practices?
BioBasedMaterials is a research project on materials obtained from biomass. Also, the research shows information to make these materials at home with waste.

Tthe materials obtained from the research, make the user question the impact of other materials on nature and that other more respectful materials may be possible
