Detailed Description
Make your own ring with the Do-It-Yourself Ring Sets from BISHU. In a playful, intuitive way, you create your ring according to your ideas with the help of detailed instructions and tutorials online. The ring is carved and processed in wax according to your design, cast in recycled silver by us and professionally finished by goldsmiths. All necessary tools are included in the set, which will be returned to us together with the ring as soon as it is finished. By returning the tools in the reusable mailer, on the one hand resources are reused and the customer effectively pays only for the ring.
We also chose local and recycled, or recyclable materials. For example, the reusable mailer is made of dead stock material and the interior is made of recycled foam aggregate. The longevity of the materials is guaranteed by the reuse and the entire supply chain takes place artisanal in Switzerland, even the recycled silver is locally sourced in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

- Does your design take social and cultural challenges and human wellbeing into consideration?
The Ring Sets aim for a playful approach into jewellery making. They focus rather on creating instead of consuming, in trying new things and developing new skills. In a society driven by consumption the BISHU Ring Sets inspire to be playful and with the Rings Sets easy instructions they strengthen the confidence of creating things oneself.
- Does your design support sustainable production, embodying circular or regenerative design practices?
We are only working with artisanal manufacturies in Switzerland using recycled silver from Switzerland, Germany and Austria. All the tools from the set are sent back by the customer and reused up to 50 times. Wherever possible we made sure to use locally sourced, recycled or recylclable materials. As for example resuable mailer is made from dead stock and the inner life is made from recycled foam aggregate.
- Does your design promote awareness of responsible design and consumption?
The BISHU Do-It-Yourself Ring Sets focus on the process of making and creating, rather than possessing and consuming. All the tools are sent back and reused once the ring is done.
