ELECTROTRUCS

Detailed Description

Working with repairers using electrical and electronic waste found at waste collection centres, I focused on making our small kitchen appliances (such as toasters, coffee makers, blenders, microwaves, etc.) more desirable and understanding how they work.

Project Details

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the OPENNESS value of the Distributed Design Platform?

All my designs are designed to be accessible, using 3D printing and CNC technologies. The design of the shells depends on the type of appliance found, and requires a great deal of skill to adapt.

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the COLLABORATIVE value of the Distributed Design Platform?

This is the key criterion for this project, we need to support the active participation of users to develop this knowledge and know-how so that we can reappropriate our home appliances.

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the REGENERATIVE value of the Distributed Design Platform?

This project is based on the principle of making our production models more circular and imagining contemporary practices by developing craft, repair and recycling skills.

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the ECOSYSTEMIC value of the Distributed Design Platform?

I'm banking on the fact that, by taking part in production, users can create stories about these appliances that will make them last over time and transgress the notion of aesthetic obsolescence.
