Project Details

Does your design take social and cultural challenges and human wellbeing into consideration?

Sun-made.org empowers citizens, ngo, associations and more to actively participate in the design process through meaningful and participatory co-design approaches. By harnessing innovative techniques, we are able to create sustainable solutions that combat plastic waste without relying on electricity. Our approach has the potential to generate employment opportunities worldwide while addressing pressing environmental challenges.

Does your design support sustainable production, embodying circular or regenerative design practices?

By transforming waste plastic into useful products, we renew valuable resources and contribute to a cleaner environment. Through sustainable manufacturing practices and a circular economy approach, we aim to restore balance and minimize the negative impact of plastic waste. Our project fights plastic waste worldwide without relying on electricity, making a significant contribution to the goal of renewing and restoring the systems we are part of.

Does your design use principles of distribution and open source?

The mentality and approach of our designers at SunFactory is rooted in the principles of sharing and transparency. We believe in making our design processes open, replicable, and accessible to others. This includes not only sharing hardware and software details but also providing insights into implementation and usability, allowing for collaboration and the advancement of sustainable solutions.

Does your design promote awareness of responsible design and consumption?

By designing for the health of social and environmental systems, we aim to address the challenges posed by plastic waste. Through our innovative approach, we not only recycle plastic but also foster a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between materials, people, and the environment. By promoting sustainable practices and reducing the reliance on virgin materials, we contribute to the well-being of both society and the planet.
