The plastic scanner is a complete open source hardware project that aims to make plastic identification simple and accessible! By also making the development process open we make a device that people actually use and can modify for their context

Super relevant, it are the people that need to use it in the end so better involve them in the process, we have an open discord server to communicate as well as monthly update videos

Hand sorting plastic will stay and exist around the world, the plastic scanner is an accompany device for the sorters, it is not meant to replace them

The goal of the plastic scanner is to have more plastic recycled by the end of the day, this also means that the enclosure of the plastic scanner needs to be made from recycled plastic
