Short Description

Boem Store is our digital shop with printable 3D models designed for the cheap FFF 3D printers.

Detailed Description

We have designed the first collections in 2020, when Covid-19 started and the shops were closed and we saw the big potential of 3D Printing which can be the answer to many issues. Our biggest and most important collection we call Nothing Else. Minimalistic designed products that are shaped by printing technology so that they can be easily printed with the only material needed. No supports, avoiding overhangs and reasonable use of infill. We travel a lot around the world and there are a lot of places in the world, where it is not that easy to have a drinking water, and where people don't have a kitchen. During the last year we have lived in 15 places around the world and because we travel with the printer, we were able to easily furnish them with no Ikea like shops around. Digital products does not need any space when you have to move. After one and a half a year we have sold over 2000 products over the world together with many linenses for business selling our printed designs locally.

Project Details

Does your design take social and cultural challenges and human wellbeing into consideration?

We believe our design takes a human wellbeing into consideration. We keep the products affordable and for the basic and cheap printers. We were working a lot to choose a materials and settings to create simple and nice products on the very ordinary printer. You can print our products in the cabin in the woods, in the middle of the jungle how many times you need.

Does your design support sustainable production, embodying circular or regenerative design practices?

Yes, at first, there is no need of packaging, and shipping every single piece. Production is very easy with no extra material needed. Current filaments are moving forward very sensibly with a lot of recycled and biodegradable materials.

Does your design use principles of distribution and open source?

Anyone with internet and access to a 3D printer can benefit from our designs. We have sold a lot of licenses over the world for businesses to profit from our designs and we are now collaborating with Cubee community to share our catalogue for their 1600 printshops over the world. We see this as a fundamental change in selling products where you don't have to keep anything in stock.

Does your design promote awareness of responsible design and consumption?

We have created our store mainly in response to open source platforms that were created for all amateurs and hobby creators to share their creations for free. We've seen people download and print here mainly because it's free. We decided from the beginning that nothing will be free and we will try to make it reasonably priced so that people only download what they need. We believe that thanks to this we convinced a lot of creators to also stop offering their products for free.
