Bambooscope is the first low-cost video laryngoscope made of bamboo.

Detailed Description

Bamboo body, a steel straw, an elastic band, a probe and a common smartphone used as video output, are the ingredients of this project, developed with the support and advice of anesthesiologists, patients and designers.

During many operations it is necessary to intubate the patient. A tool that can help anesthesiologists in this complex operation, which if not carried out correctly can lead to serious complications, is the videolaryngoscope, very expensive today.

Bambooscope is reusable, light, easily sterilizable, durable and economical. Made up of a few modular pieces that can be easily assembled such as: the central body in bamboo, an elastic to hold the smartphone, a probe and a steel straw. With the price of a traditional video laryngoscope you could buy dozens of Bambooscopes.
