Detailed Description
?We draw inspiration from nature and reinterpret collaboration and interaction among eco-systems, to propose a hive model made out of recycled materials. Using different recycling techniques, we will repurpose several types of waste (paper, leather powder, plastic, metal, etc.) into an
interactive installation.
? We base our artistic concept on principles of complex systems theory, whereas we understand all life is about relationships and interconnectedness; and we understand in nature everything is cyclical and circular and everything recycles.
?When paper can’t be recycled indefinitely and it takes water, energy and chemicals for this process to be made, we have to put our minds to find the best solution. That’s how object design, one of our favorite activities, helped me combine recycling techniques with artistry to create an installation with multiple purposes.
Project Details
- Does your design take social and cultural challenges and human wellbeing into consideration?
Together with the members of the association, we have managed to organize various exhibitions of recycled art and upcycling workshops to familiarize the public with this concept. The association also organizes events or activities to raise funds for different community causes.
The five years of experience and countless projects since the birth of Art Mirror have given me the confidence to go the extra mile and reach out to a wider audience, to those who can positively change the environment for the better: the business industry. This is how Urban Mirror has seen the light of day, making its mission to promote across all businesses various and more eco-friendly alternatives for advertising and branding products.
- Does your design support sustainable production, embodying circular or regenerative design practices?
Ever since the begging of my association, I have made it a mission to discover techniques in which to reuse multiple materials which are often overlooked.
All our design products are made from 100% collected waste from local business industry
- Does your design use principles of distribution and open source?
? Collaboration can't happen without ideas, people, or things coming together.
By testing multiple unconventional techniques and recycling methods we have developed an amazing community of passionate sustainable design
artists.
- Does your design promote awareness of responsible design and consumption?
Our aim is to promote the concepts of recycled art and upcycling, while raising awareness of the importance of a circular economy and regenerative practices, in the fight against climate change. We carry out educational and cultural projects aimed at community development and ecosystem building, while raising awareness about
environmental issues.
