In this year’s Makers in Residency 2026 edition, we are inviting makers, designers, innovators, and engineers to collectively respond to one of the most tangible consequences of global warming: the overheating of urban environments. Participants will work through hands-on, collaborative design-and-build processes to develop a shading structure for the future community café in Park Izbrisanih within Center Rog’s Green Area in Ljubljana.

This residency will take place online and in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from the end of May to the beginning of June 2026 and includes a combination of group and individual activities designed to foster creative engagement with climate-responsive and community-oriented making. We will select up to ten participants — individuals or collectives — from a range of disciplines including design, architecture, engineering, craft, and digital fabrication.

For this programme, we offer to cover the residents travel expenses, free accommodation, access to all production labs and an extra week at Center Rog fully dedicated to the development of their personal projects.
