TOPPETE

Detailed Description

Toppete is an innovative open-source project that focuses on redefining the role of the patch in clothing, transforming it from a simple tool for repair or decoration into an enhancer of the garment itself. Through Toppete, the patch becomes a dynamic and valued element, capable of transforming and enriching every piece of clothing it is applied to, thus contributing to a more sustainable and innovative approach in the fashion world.

Project Details

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the OPENNESS value of the Distributed Design Platform?

Toppete is a system that promotes inclusivity, sustainability, and creativity through open access to patch technology. The 3D models of the patches are freely downloadable, allowing anyone to use and adapt the models according to their needs and creativity.

In addition to the 3D models of the patches, we also provide the design of the machine for creating patches on scraps of fabric, enabling anyone to create their own patches in a simple and cost-effective manner, while promoting textile waste reduction.

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the COLLABORATIVE value of the Distributed Design Platform?

Toppete allows you to repair and enhance your clothes by personalizing them with unique and creative designs. Our open platform invites everyone to actively participate in enhancing their garments, making them not only more durable but also expressive of their personality. By sharing 3D models and the ability to create patches using fabric scraps, Toppete promotes a culture of continuous collaboration and innovation. Each participant can contribute their ideas and improvements, enriching the project's creative and sustainable ecosystem.

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the REGENERATIVE value of the Distributed Design Platform?

Toppete is a project that embraces regenerative design and production principles, aiming to renew and restore environmental and social systems. Through the use of patches that repair and enhance garments, including those made from discarded materials, the project promotes more sustainable and conscious consumption. This approach not only extends the lifespan of clothing but also transforms waste into valuable resources, advocating for an integrated approach to circular and responsible production.

In your project's current stage of development, how does it align with the ECOSYSTEMIC value of the Distributed Design Platform?

Toppete educates about the culture of recycling and reuse. Its accessories, both digital and analog, not only enrich garment customization but also consider the health and well-being of the individual. Additionally, being an open project, Toppete encourages people to develop creativity and conceive new innovative solutions, promoting active and inclusive participation in creating a more sustainable and conscious world.
