Mini Motoz

About the project

Developing the first production line for balance bikes made out of wood.

Building Mini Motoz, the handcrafted wooden mini motorcycles, a strive for innovation and creativity, delivering excitement and thrill to the riders of the next generation while embracing sustainability.

The project aims to build the first production line for mini motorcycles made almost entirely out of wood. The mini motorcycles will be eco-friendly and customizable, appealing to the growing market of environmentally-conscious consumers. The production line will consist of various machines and equipment, including CNC-routers, laser cutters, sewing machines, 3D printers, plotter, and a fully equipped wood workshop. Each of these machines will be strategically used to maximize efficiency and workflow. The CNC-routers and laser cutter will be used to precisely cut and engrave the wooden parts of the mini motorcycles, while the 3D printer will be utilized to create molds and jigs for various parts. The sewing machine will be used to create custom seats and covers for the mini motorcycles. The plotter will be used to create the custom designs and graphics that will be applied to each mini motorcycle and the promotion cars and fair stands , allowing for a high level of details for each variant of the bike. Additionally, the wood workshop, equipped with a variety of hand tools and woodworking machines, allows for precise and detailed craftsmanship of the wooden components.

In order to ensure a higher level of quality, I took online and offline courses in woodworking, design, and engineering to ensure the necessary skills and knowledge to operate the various machines and equipment and develop production techniques for each of the over 90 individual parts a bike consists of. The development of design and production prioritized sustainability in every aspect of the production process, from the sourcing of our materials to the reduction and the disposal of any waste. All wood used in production is locally sourced and any waste will be recycled or repurposed whenever possible.

Our mini motoz will be marketed towards eco-conscious as well as design oriented consumers who are looking for a unique and customizable first bike. The initial production line will be capable of producing a limited volume of mini motorcycles with techniques allowing us to further expand our reach and bring our product to a wider audience in the future. Overall, the project aims to combine the aesthetics and craftsmanship of woodworking with cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly methods to create a product that is more environmentally conscious compared to the mass production bikes produced in Asia and shipped across the globe. The objective is to create a product that distinguishes itself from competitors with its unique design approach, as well as the hand-built production process that prioritizes attention to detail.
