OPPORTUNITIES TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE

Distributed Design – our approach to design within global connectivity.

Opportunities are waiting for you. Open calls are there to apply for.  For you to not miss any chance, we listed here our ongoing open calls during February 2019!

1. Vienna – Be part of Vienna Design Week

Exhibit your design at Maker Faire Vienna

Your work is realised with digital fabrication tools?
Open source or based on digital files?
And can be locally produced in maker spaces?

Then apply as exhibitors until February 14th and be nominated to get visibility at VIENNA DESIGN WEEK  2019

The Call is open for design projects that were realized with digital fabrication tools (3D printers, Laser Cutters, CNC milling machines,…), can be locally produced in makerspaces/Fab Labs or are based on digital (open source) files that can be shared online.

Designers can still apply as exhibitors until February 14, 2019 online (bit.ly/MFV19callEN)

2. Berlin – Create your own event at Re:publica Festival

The most inspiring festival for the digital society

Let’s play in a world of tomorrow with the wonderful digital civil society. A bath in the crowd, a flash mob, a wake-up call!
At #rp19 you will find the opportunity to implement your ideas for performances and participative games.
It is said that we are reading less and our attention span is getting smaller and smaller. So let’s think about what other, unwritten forms of protest, learning and teaching exist. Games, for example, can help us to be guided out of our habits and into a critical position using simple rules.

Make It.

Submit your ideas for our Side Events at #rp19 until February 28, 2019
You’ll find all important information on the Call for Participation page

3. Ioannina (Greece) – Manufacture your agriculture project

5 days.
4 projects.
1 community.

The P2P Lab is looking for 4 designers, makers or enthusiasts to join the workshop 5-day workshop in Ioannina (NW Greece).  Selected designers will introduce their technological solution related to agriculture to the local community and manufacture it with their help, while keeping local biophysical conditions in mind.

The workshop will take place at Tzoumakers, a rural makerspace situated in a small mountainous village called Kalentzi. The latter is part of the village cluster of Tzoumerka in Ioannina, a place abundant in cultural and natural wealth but scarce in the economic means of welfare. The main aim of the workshop is to familiarise the local community with open source technologies developed within the EU and, ideally, connect hubs (e.g. Fab Labs) that provide technical infrastructures for development.
